General Information
HoopFest West and HoopFest East is a platform for both experienced and emerging basketball players for the Canada Ismaili Jamat and multifaith family members to participate and showcase their skills. We want to limit travel as much as possible and allow regional participation while creating a festival-type atmosphere to celebrate our players in the game we love. This is the first year we are offering HoopFest and hope to offer this annually in different cities in Canada.
HoopFest West takes place in Edmonton from July 3–5.
HoopFest East takes place in Toronto from July 10–12.
Yes, you can! HoopFest East is intended for the regions of Toronto, Northeast Ontario, Southwest Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. HoopFest West is intended for the regions of BC, Edmonton, and Prairies.
Athletes will receive 3 minimum games, a shirt, a bag, 2 lunches, social media recognition, and more!
Confirmation will be given in the first week of June at the latest. We acknowledge that prices of travel will increase so we recommend that you purchase insurance when organizing travel and review cancellation policies when booking hotels.

Yes, teams can include players from different regions.
Yes! Individuals (free agents) can sign up and will be placed on teams, subject to player registration availability. The sooner you register, the more likely you can get on a team.
Yes, you will receive a full refund if we cannot place you on a team.
Yes, there is a place to request a friend or family member on the registration form. It's recommended to form a team instead of registering as an individual. Our intention is to honour all friend requests and we will do our best to accommodate individual requests subject to player availability. The earlier you register, the more likely the request can be facilitated.
Yes absolutely! Additionally, West players can also play in the East and East players can play in the West.

Logistics & Basketball Operations
We based divisions on interest from the Jamat during pre-registration. These choices were made directly due to the interest form responses by those ages and genders.
We are hoping to move locations in both the West and East within the country based on facility availability.
No, athletes can only participate in one division.
